Our Move to Norway – A New Chapter Begins!

As many of you know, Erik and I aren’t exactly the kind of people who sit still. In our current home – the place we built with so much love – everything was running perfectly. The studio was thriving, the garden was full of herbs and dye plants, and we had built our dream house. And yet… we felt the itch for change.

At the end of 2023, we made the decision: we’re going to emigrate!

At first, we focused on Scotland, but unfortunately, our Global Talent visa was denied. Luckily, we already had plan B in mind: Norway! During a summer holiday, we carefully discussed the idea as a family. My daughter and I even took a road trip to Norway in our camper van Emily, where we not only camped in the wild but also viewed a farm property. It was an exciting, special trip — and such a beautiful experience to share with her.

When we returned, the five of us were in full agreement: we’re going for it. We put our house in the Netherlands up for sale — not a simple task, with three kids, three cats, four dogs, and a studio at home! But we managed. In the spring of 2025, we sold our entire project — including the tiny house.

And now? Now the real adventure can begin.

This summer, we’ll be moving to Norway, where we’ll search for our new place in nature. The studio will come with us — but in a new form. I plan to focus more on creating, expanding my webshop, and eventually offering online workshops. For now, I won’t be teaching physical workshops anymore; after 22 years, it’s time for something new.

Behind the scenes, Erik and I are also working on a new website and a new name. “De Ambachtelijke Korf” doesn’t fit anymore, so we’ll continue under an international name "Lilly's Fable". A name that tells about the girl I once was (and secretly still am) A girl who believes in myths, fairy tales and fables.

For now, the webshop remains open, and the planned workshops will continue as usual. As soon as there’s more news about our adventure, I’ll share it with you!
